I am an anesthesiologist at Perrella Clinic, working alongside Dr. Igor.
I’d like to discuss a bit about conscious sedation. This type of sedation is recommended for patients who experience panic, suffer from anxiety, have difficulty opening their mouths, or experience nausea and vomiting.
Thus, I serve as a supportive figure, an alternative therapy, to assist in the treatment of these patients. Throughout the treatment, I monitor cardiac activity, blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and pulse oximetry to assess the patient’s peripheral oxygenation.
During surgery, we continuously monitor and administer certain medications. Of course, it’s essential to administer a saline solution, which includes anti-inflammatories and antibiotics, to prevent patients from vomiting or experiencing nausea.
